How we work
The same three steps whether you are hiring or looking.
- STEP 1
One call, not a form
Hiring: the machines on your floor, the material mix, square feet a week, shifts, and what you actually pay per hour. Looking: what you've run, how far you will drive, and the number you need to move.
- STEP 2
Screened against the work
Anyone can put CNC on a resume. We ask what they programmed it in, how they cut and set a miter, what they do when a seam opens up on install day, and how they handle a slab off the rack. You get the notes, not just a name.
- STEP 3
Interview, offer and start
We discuss interview times around your availability and agree on the next step with both sides. Any shop visit or skills assessment needs a clear scope and arrangements in advance. Then come the offer, start date and follow-up.

Countertop fabrication jobs: which role fits your experience?
A countertop moves through several hands before it reaches an installation. Job titles can overlap, especially in a small shop, so explain the work you can take responsibility for rather than relying on a title alone.
Fabricator, installer or templater?
A fabricator works on turning slabs into finished pieces: cutting, edge work, cutouts, fitting and finishing. An installer takes that work to the jobsite, checks the fit and coordinates the final placement and seams. A templater records the site and communicates the measurements and details the shop needs to make the pieces.
When looking for countertop installer jobs, say whether you have worked as a helper, set pieces as part of a crew, or led the installation and customer handover. For stone fabricator jobs, describe your material experience and the operations you performed yourself.
CNC and polishing experience
For stone CNC operator jobs, name the machine and controller, then separate operating a prepared program from setting up tools, editing a file or programming a job. Experience on metal or wood does not automatically describe experience on stone.
Polishers and finishers should explain the edge profiles and materials they have worked with, and whether their experience is on a production line, at a bench or on installed work. Clear examples make it easier to discuss the right level of responsibility.
Starting out or changing shops
If you are exploring how to become a countertop fabricator, tell us what you already bring: workshop experience, reading drawings, measuring, teamwork or customer-facing work. Ask whether a particular employer offers a helper or trainee route and what supervised training involves.

Does it cost me anything?
No. Candidates never pay us — the shop that hires you covers our fee. That includes the advice, the interview prep and pushing on your offer.
Will my current shop find out I am looking?
Not from us. Your resume goes nowhere without your say-so, and if you name shops you do not want approached — your current one included — we do not send you there.
What roles do you actually recruit?
Countertops only: fabricators, installers and install helpers, CNC operators and programmers, bridge saw and waterjet operators, edge polisher operators, polishers and finishers, templaters, slab yard and warehouse crew, fabrication leads, production supervisors, shop managers and estimators. We do not do architectural or building masonry.
Where do you cover?
Nationwide. Tell us your city or ZIP and a realistic travel radius, plus whether you would relocate. A role that fits your skills still needs to fit your journey to work. If there is no suitable opportunity to discuss, we will say so.
Do I need a resume, or certificates?
You do not need a polished resume for an initial conversation. Describe the work you have done, the machines you have run and any relevant training. Requirements vary by role and employer; tell us which qualifications a particular job asks for.
Do I need to be authorized to work in the US?
Discuss work eligibility and any documentation requirements with the prospective employer. We do not offer visa sponsorship or immigration advice. Do not send identity documents through this enquiry form.
What if nothing suits me right now?
